The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture is proud to co-sponsor the 2021 New York Encounter, an annual three-day cultural event coming to you live this year from the heart of New York City, offering opportunities for education, dialogue, and friendship. This year’s theme is “When Reality Hits” and events will focus on topics that are breaking through the moral boundaries of our hearts and minds today. 

All New York Encounter 2021 events are live-streamed free at https://www.newyorkencounter.org. We have also provided links to upcoming events below. Simultaneous Spanish-language translation will be provided for all 2021 events.

Online conversation on rethinking work, business, and economy in a post-Covid world, with Raghuram Rajan, the Katherine Dusak Miller Professor of Finance, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Ratna Sahay, deputy director, Monetary and Capital Markets Department, International Monetary Fund, and Stefano Zamagni, professor of Economics, University of Bologna and president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, moderated by Anujeet Sareen, portfolio manager, Brandywine Global.

A conversation on the power of big tech corporations, free information, and social media censorship with Matt Stoller, fellow at the Open Markets Institute, and Matthew Taibbi, author and journalist, moderated by Brandon Vaidyanathan, chair of the Department of Sociology, Catholic University of America
