About Frank & Lynn Mara

Lynn and Frank Mara are dedicated supporters of the arts and active leaders in advancing cultural and faith-based initiatives. Lynn serves on the Board of Directors of The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, and together she and Frank are tireless champions of the Center’s work and mission, promoting the intersection of faith and the arts through their ongoing involvement and philanthropy.

Lynn Mara is a contemporary American painter known for her vibrant, uplifting work that blends Pop Art with themes of faith, hope, and cultural identity. Drawing inspiration from subjects ranging from iconic figures and the American flag to sports, horses, and abstract landscapes, her work is marked by bold color, energy, and purpose. Her deep personal faith plays a central role in her artistic vision, shaping paintings that aim to bring light and encouragement to a modern world.

Raised in Southampton on Long Island’s East End, Mara discovered her passion for art at a young age, selling her first painting at just twelve years old. She later honed her style under the influence of local artists and developed a love for experimentation across mediums, including acrylics, oil pastels, spray paint, collage, and silkscreen. She earned her BA from Marymount College in 1982 and has since built a distinguished career, with works displayed in prominent public and private collections, as well as featured exhibitions and media appearances.

Frank Mara, has been a steadfast supporter of her artistic career and a dedicated partner in their shared commitment to philanthropy and community engagement. Together, they reside in Greenwich, Connecticut, where they have raised four sons and enjoy time with their family.
