Gathering together to create or experience art is nothing short of divine. The New York theatrical community spends May and June lauding the best and brightest performances on and Off-Broadway and we hope you got to experience some of this season’s celebrated productions! Did you know we had our fair share of decorated productions perform from right here on Bleecker Street? We extend our sincere congratulations to all the nominees and winners both behind the scenes and in the spotlight!

The performing arts would be nothing without our supportive audiences, and we loved seeing so many of you arrive this season with your hearts and minds open. Every performance and every partner is carefully curated by our team to ensure a thoughtful, faith-filled experience because inspiration is always welcome here at the Sheen Center.

Congratulations to all of our producing partners who were recognized with awards this season!

This season, we welcomed back New York Times bestselling author Mary Lou Quinlan for a one-night-only performance of her one woman show, The God Box: A Daughter's Story. This true story has been adapted into a theatrical piece, directed and co-written by Martha Wollner of New York City’s LAByrinth Theater Company and it has been performed all over the United States and abroad, including a critically-acclaimed run at the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and of course, right here on our very own Loreto stage!

Friends & Producing PartnersIt is important to remember, though, that theatrical productions don’t just get air-dropped onto a stage in their fully formed glitz, glamour, polish, and floor-length gowns. In any given year, the Sheen Center is home to dozens of artists, not all of whom are here to present a show to the public. In addition to welcoming audiences through our doors to witness celebrated plays and musicals in our theaters, our building also serves as a valuable haven for rehearsals, workshops, showcases, and retreats. We are honored to be a small part of the artistic journey for many playwrights, composers, production companies, actors, musicians, and students, all of whom are award-winning stars in our eyes!

It has been a beautiful season of theater at the Sheen and we look forward to welcoming audiences and creators, new friends and old, back into our space this Fall!
